New Mom

This past weekend we celebrated Mother's day with my mother-in-law. Being a newlywed, this was my 1st time celebrating Mother's day with her. We celebrated early because we are expected in NYC this coming weekend. It is of course - Mother's Day - plus the following day is my sister's bday. So NYC we must go. Since 'birth-mother' will be overseas next year wife and I thought it best we celebrate actual Mother's Day with my Mom while see it still state-side.

This week's main attraction was the Spy museum. It's cool - and big! A staffer told us it takes 5 hours to read every item in the museum. The weekend was slightly marred on two occasions. First the weather on Saturday - rain - made mom-in-law a nervous driver as she traveled from Philly. Second, some jerk swiped mom-in-law's car in a parking lot and fled the scene without leaving a note. These two things cast a slight pall over the weekend for mom-in-law. While she never completely forgot these micro-tragedies, the spy museum and late-night conversations help her forget about them for a bit.
