And finally, Rome

Rome was great. The adventure began before we landed. What started with a simple question asked to the passenger next to me resulted in a shared cab to the city. Our new friend negotiated a cab fare for the three of us to Rome, then got herself dropped off in one of the suburbs. After that it was just the wife and I and a cabdriver that spoke negligible English. The only thing he managed to say was 'this area (where our hotel was) bad at night. No go in the dark'. Greaaaaaaat. It really wasn't that bad. Even that wife didn't mind the walks home at 10pm or 11pm, so if she don't care it's a-okay.

The sights, the ruins, the food - oh the food was sooooo good. I never had a bad meal and only one meal was average (surprisingly, it was pizza). Even though we walked everywhere you never wanted to sit down for very long. Rome just sprawled out, promising that if you walked in any direction you would see something amazing. You've seen the pictures so I won't go into detail.

I won't have thought we could top our honeymoon/vacation in St. Martin, but Rome was such a wonderful place to be for our one year anniversary that it shot straight to #1 with a bullet. Bang!
